How was your Memorial Day Weekend? Mine was FINE!!!

Most holidays here are reserved for family.  Memorial holiday is one of them.  Sure, it's a way to salute the veterans who sacrificed their lives for our country but it has now evolved into something totally family-oriented.

I don't mind it.  It's a way to spend time with your loved ones.  But I stopped doing that a long time ago.

Now, Memorial Weekend marks our soft-opening for summer.  We have made it a tradition to go to the beach (most of the time we go to Rehoboth Beach, DE), lay out for a couple of hours, go back to the hotel to take a shower and eat out.  After that, it's one night of dancing and partying.  Then, we wake up early the next day to go to the outlets and do some credit card damage while shopping.

My favorite part of the whole weekend?

Eating crabs at Lazy Susan's Hot Fat Crabs!  Yes!  It's a must-do if you ever go to Rehoboth Beach.  You will love the experience (unless you're allergic to seafood).  I can promise you at least a nice meal, a great way to end the weekend - - and good memories to take home.

TGIF! Have a great weekend everyone!

I was just on vacation in Argentina and Brazil last month and I'm already itching to go somewhere.  If plans work well, I may be going to Montreal next month.  Montreal is the hidden gem of North America.  It's got the European flair without the cost of Euros.

I am meeting with friends tonight for happy hour and discuss which mode we're going to use to get there.  Driving is an option since we only live approximately 9 hours away.  Flying would be the most ideal but fares are so expensive these days.

I will have to think this one through.  I need someone to take care of my dogs... again... :)

Give me some time. I will be back at the gym.

I haven't gone back to the gym since I was operated on last December. Somehow, when the doctor told me to not lift anything heavy for the next couple of months - I decided not to be a good patient and followed his orders.

Well, it's been six months now since I was allowed to work out "lightly", and I still haven't gone back to the gym. I am envious every time I see people running around the park or doing bootcamp exercises.

I will go back to the gym. No doubt about that. The question is when!

School starts again in a couple of weeks - let's hope I get the energy before then!

Time to Have Fun

Summer is coming around in just a few weeks. And if you’re one of the lucky ones who’s already done with school – summer is here to stay. While the importance of summer changes a lot depending on whether it’s your first summer as a college student or your last, you can’t forget that it’s the perfect combination of having everything to do and nothing at all. I for one have spent my past two summers at home and I’ve had internships, jobs, summer courses, trips, and many other things. This summer I’ll be in an entirely new city where I hardly know anyone, and I’m both scared and really excited (more scared at the moment though). I’m a real family girl, and at the same time, I’ve had plenty of friends who have been on campus from the start of college to the finish. However you decide to plan your summer, make sure that it’s a time worth celebrating.
